The world is our classroom, but at the beginning of the day, your child will complete their work on our Skoolie!

Enrichment
Once your child has completed their assignment for the day, we will travel to an enrichment destination.
Why?
This is a one-of-a-kind learning experience. At Solstice Hybrid Academy, students will be spending a maximum of two hours each day completing computer/written assignments. The rest of their time is spent on individually directed learning or exploring educational destinations. At SHA, we have a smaller group of students, allowing more one-on-one tutoring and mentorship. SHA has the flexibility of homeschool but the structure of traditional school. SHA is also year-round, which helps students maintain their focus, and accommodate families that work year-round. SHA has breaks throughout the year, which are scheduled around major holidays, solstices, and equinoxes. This allows families the ability to spend special time with their children, and adjust to the changes of the seasons. The biggest “WHY” is our classroom. We are one of the very few schools that operate within a school bus. This gives us the ability to take students on daily field trips. Enrichment
Each day, students will complete their assignments for the day in Language Arts, Math, Science, Geography, or Social Studies. In addition to their weekly assignments, they will learn homesteading skills inspired by Wild+Free. Also, they will have access to Montessori style activities which are inspired by curriculum developed by establishments such as Trillium Montessori and Montessori Kiwi. Finally, students will participate in daily field trips which will enhance what they are learning in the classroom. We will be visiting the public library, local nature trails, museums, theater, farms, recreation centers, parks and more! This will give students time out of the classroom to explore, move, and expand their horizons. This idea is what makes our microschool a hybrid, allowing more freedom than traditional classrooms. Every day, we will start and end at our home base, allowing pick-up and drop-off to remain consistent. We believe every day is a learning adventure. Our desire for exploration is what motivates us to make the world our classroom, so our students are inspired to make innovative discoveries every day.
